11/23 - Holiday Cards Watercolor Workshop

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Students will learn how to create festive handmade watercolor holiday cards. A workshop that was created for beginners in mind, students will learn simple brushstrokes, color mixing, how to paint leaves, mistletoe, and pine needles, and finally, how to put the skills together to make their unique greeting cards. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Instructor Guidance: Under the expert guidance of Angeline Peterman, you will learn various watercolor techniques to create vibrant Holiday Cards. Angeline will share her tips and tricks for achieving the perfect blend of colors and mastering brush control.
• Hands-on Practice: Engage in hands-on practice with a carefully curated palette. Explore different brush strokes and layering techniques to bring your floral artwork to life.
• Step-by-Step Demonstrations: Angeline will provide step-by-step demonstrations, ensuring you understand each technique before applying it to your work. You’ll gain confidence as you follow along and create your own masterpiece.
• Personalized Feedback: Receive personalized feedback and one-on-one assistance from Angeline. She will help you refine your skills and overcome any challenges during the workshop.
• Dots and Dust Tote Bag: Angeline will provide a Dots & Dust tote bag to take all your goodies home.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR:

- Must be 16 years and up

CLASS SIZE:

Classes are limited to 12 to ensure individual attention.

• $65 if you bring your supplies
• $175 bundled supplies provided by Huntsville Art Supplies (the supplies will be ready for pickup the first day of class at Huntsville Art Supplies, studio 270)  or purchase only what you need: Huntsville Art Supplies

Student Supply List

• At least 3 Sheets of 140 lb Coldpress Watercolor Paper
• Size 2 Round Watercolor Brush (I will be using Princeton Snap! Round 2 Brush)
• 3- 5"x7" Strathmore Watercolor Cards with Envelope
• Daniel Smith Watercolor Paints in the following colors:
  • • Titanium White
    • Indigo
    • Sap Green
    • Alizarin Crimson
• Pencil
• Small Roll of Washi or Masking Tape
• Eraser (I love Prismacolor Art Gum Eraser)
• Pigma Micron 03 Pen (black ink)
• Small Scissors
• Paint Palette

All Supplies are available for purchase at Huntsville Art Supplies

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Angeline Peterman started her creative business, Dots & Dust, in March 2018 as a way to help women reconnect to their creative spirits within an incredibly busy world. She does this by teaching online tutorials, workshops, and private lessons on the topics of watercolor, modern calligraphy, and bible journaling. She is passionate in helping women understand the benefits of routine creative practices no matter their experience level. She is a mom of three, an Army wife of 15 years, and currently resides in Madison, AL.

We’ll focus on practical exercises, creative exploration, and individual expression, providing a solid foundation for both enhancing your design skills and enjoying a new hobby. Let’s fill the world with our beautiful letters!
