Art is a very personal reflection of thoughts and motives. Here are my thoughts on why I painted a series of apple artworks. I’d love to hear what you think!
Why Paint Apple Artwork?
Apple is an amazing fruit packed with nutrients, yet if you look closely at an apple, there is a lot of stuff to contemplate upon. Firstly you will notice the striking red color palette of an apple, a color that grabs our imagination swiftly and leaves a deep impression in our subconscious mind.
Although an apple may appear to have a simple exterior, its interior presents a fascinating hive of nutrients and molecules all neatly packed in a beautiful package, much like our lives.
Whenever I paint an apple, it brings with it a layer of depth and persona. There is a hidden message behind every painting of an apple.
It is truly fascinating how the same painting of an apple can have two very different meanings for the viewer, and it depends on how you perceive this fruit and what you make of the hidden message behind the painting.
About this Apple Artwork Series
All the oil paintings in this series are created with a vibrant dash of colors, all coming together to create a piece of art that includes a combination of bold brushstrokes and broken light.
The vibrant colors are designed to make the viewer feel empowered and the boldness of the objects in the canvas, i.e. the fruit imbues an aura around the viewer such that they can truly resonate with the boldness of these oil paintings.
The eyes of the beholder will fall in love with them because up close they appear to have a fragmented image, but when you view them from a distance, they all look fantastically put together – much the same way we all are as individuals. Everyone has a fragmented version when seen from a closer depth. It is why you or I can appreciate the layers of hidden message behind these oil paintings.
The best kind of art can invoke strong emotions from the perception of the beholder, and put us in a sort of trance that no other media can imitate. It is the single reason why we continue to get awestruck with the work of a painter. It is simply fascinating how the brushstroke makes the piece come together and that takes our breath away and make us sit and ponder upon our whole lives.
A simple oil painting may look ordinary from afar, but when you look closely, you are bound to think deeply about the roots of our existence, and how fragmented we are as human beings.
I’d love to hear from you: which apple artwork draws your eye and why?
